Caño Negro Refuge: A successful Boat Tour in a rainy morning
At the Caño Negro Refuge, you can really have a successful boat tour even in a rainy day.
Our guest was really worried she couldn’t see many animals – especially birds – because of the heavy rainfall.
But, after 3 hours in Caño Negro Refuge we were able to see so many different species of birds from Herons like the Boat-billed Herons, many Kingfishers, Red-winged Blackbirds to Swallows.
We were lucky enough to watch capuchin monkeys stealing eggs out of bird nests, a totally wet sloth hanging in the tree, a lot of caimans, basilisks, bats and many more.
Caño Negro Refuge is a wetland with a light rainy season from May to November.
Rain is part of this ecosystem, so the animals are used to the precipitation and therefore it doesn’t really matter if it is raining or not.
